[cat-fish] noun

a cat that loves to scavange and bring you the best micro content from across the pond.

CatfishShorts! is a successful, inclusive four-year international short film platform showcasing shorts made by women,  LGBTQ+, and minorities in key decision-making roles around the world.

BIPOC filmmakers, and who identify as a visible or diverse minority are welcome to apply and reach out - we would love to hear from you.

Who we are

As two expats working in film, Courtney and Melissa realized there is a real demand for filmmakers' short films across the globe. This, combined with a desire to create a platform and community for films made by female filmmakers, LGBTQ+ and minorities, is at the core of Catfish.

Catfish Short's inaugural event took place in 2017 at the Tribeca Screening Room in New York and has carried on in London and Vancouver.

Catfish Shorts exists to celebrate a multiplicity of filmmakers, visual artists, and creatives from all walks of life. Embarking on our fifth year as a festival community, and our Fourth Annual Film Festival, we pride ourselves on giving screen-space and visibility to thought-provoking and engaging short-form content produced by inspirational filmmakers.
